The Swiss premium hotel company has just signed a management agreement with the owning company Integrated Development and Tourism Investment (IDTI) for two upscale hotel projects in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Both holiday resorts are already under construction and are scheduled to open by 2008 and 2009.
“A long history of success unites Sharm El Sheikh and Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts,” explains Josef Kufer, Senior Vice President Africa Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. “We are delighted to be returning to this key Egyptian destination in 2008 thanks to Integrated Development and Tourism Investment, and to be able once again to offer our loyal clientele a high quality of service and products.”
The 5-star Mövenpick Resort & Spa Sharm El Sheikh will open in summer 2008 over a total surface area of 103,000 sqm. The resort will have 327 rooms and suites, including 30 luxury apartments.
“We very much look forward to co-operating with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts and are convinced that the two new hotels will complement each other ideally,” says Mohamed Abu Eleinen, Managing Director of Integrated Development and Tourism Investment. “There is no doubt that these exceptional projects will enable us to assume a leading position in Sharm El Sheikh.”
7 km from Sharm El Sheikh down town area, again in a prime beach-front location, is the Mövenpick Resort Um El Sied, which is scheduled to open in spring 2009.
